Denise Uyehara, writer, performance artist, and playwright, will present “Maps of City and Body” on Wednesday, July 11, at 8 p.m. in the John Wright Theater at California State University, Fresno.

For the past decade, Uyehara has explored what it means to be a woman, an Asian American, a bisexual, and a human being. Her critically acclaimed solo works have been presented across America and in London, Vancouver, Helsinki, and Hairou, China.

Background

The CSU Summer Arts Festival, hosted by Fresno State July 1 to 27, offers 35 public events throughout the community. The internationally-acclaimed residency program features 16 intensive Summer Arts workshops bringing 350 students, teachers and arts professionals from around the country and some international artists to the campus and various locations around town.
