National Collegiate Alcohol Awareness Week from Oct. 21-27 will be observed at California State University, Fresno with an intoxication simulation today and alcohol self-assessment services by the University Health and Psychological Services throughout the week.

The student health center is located at 5044 N. Barton Ave. and is open 8 a.m. to noon and 1 to 4:45 p.m.

University Police will demonstrate “Fatal Vision” goggles, which simulate intoxication, in the Free Speech area, Monday, Oct. 22, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.

The University Courtyard Atrium and BACCHUS will offer special programming including “milk and cookies after dark” on Oct. 22. A special issue of The Student Body, the Health Center’s newsletter, presents recent findings on alcohol consumption among Fresno State students (indicating most drink moderately or not at all) and tips for “safer drinking.”
