Summer Arts' final week, July 23-27, features world-renowned actors, artists, Fresno play

The CSU Summer Arts Festival hosted by California State University, Fresno moves into its fourth and final week Monday, July 23, including a play about Fresno and appearances by Pulitzer-prize winning writer Phillip Levine, a Fresno State professor, and Star Trek star Robert Beltran, a Fresno State alumnus.

The four-week festival, hosted by Fresno State's College of Arts and Humanities July 1 to 27, offers 35 public events throughout the community with a special live television wrap up show, "Celebration of the Arts," on Thursday, July 26, at 9 p.m. in the Amphitheatre at Fresno State. The show is free but will also be cablecast live on Fresno's AT&T Broadband Channel 14. Bakersfield native Beltran will co-host the live entertainment special with local television anchor Stephanie Boorajian, also an alumnus. CSU Chancellor Charles Reed will be in Fresno for the show.

A play about Fresno by Cornerstone Theatre Company of Los Angeles and featuring local residents in acting parts will be July 26 and 27. Mayor Alan Autry will have a part.
