Psst! Wanna know a secret about Fresno State students?

They’ll tell you but not until April 1. That’s when “the best-kept secret at Fresno State” will be revealed, during a special program from 12:15-12:45 p.m. in The Pit at the University Student Union.

Roberto Vaca, a senior who is Social Norms Marketing project assistant and chair of the sponsoring Student Subcommittee of the campus Alcohol Advisory Council, said he expects many students to be surprised when he reveals the secret.

Vaca will emcee the program, which will feature a DJ and music, an open mic and a question-answer session about students’ plans for spring break, April 5-9.

To heighten interest, the subcommittee is sponsoring a contest in which members of three campus sororities and one fraternity will wear specially designed red t-shirts on March 24, 25 and 26. The shirts will ask the question, “What’s the best-kept secret at Fresno State?”

The organization with the most members wearing t-shirts will receive a check for $200 for donation to the charity of its choice. The check will be presented at the conclusion of the event, approximately 12:55 p.m.

Participating sororities are Kappa Alpha Zeta, Sigma Alpha Zeta and Alphi Xi Delta. The fraternity is Phi Gamma Delta.

A student poster contest also will be part of the activities. Students in Art and Design professor Martin Valencia’s class are designing posters awww.fresnostatenews.com

secret. The posters will be displayed and votes cast by students on April 1. Posters of the top vote-getters will be used in future publicity. The first-place winner will receive $150 and second place, $75.
