Classes for Nonpaying Students to be Cancelled Aug. 8; Online Payment Available through Weekend

Fresno State students who have not yet paid their fall semester registration fees that were due last week face automatic disenrollment from their scheduled classes on Sunday, Aug. 8.

However, thanks to the new CASHNet®SmartPay method, students may pay their fees online through the weekend with the possibility that disenrollment can be avoided but it’s not guaranteed, said Bernard Vinovrski, Associate Vice President for Enrollment Services.

Electronic invoices for fall 2004 registration fees that were due July 30 were sent to students prior to that deadline and a notice about the disenrollment was emailed this week.

For SmartPay, students may use a credit card -- American Express, MasterCard, and Discover Card only -- or an electronic check.

Disenrolled students lose the classes they reserved and would be forced to re-register during the Open Registration period which begins on Tuesday, Aug. 10, choosing from classes that are still available.

Students who register for classes beginning Aug. 10 and thereafter must pay fees by the Friday of the week in which they register, Vinovrski said.

Students may also pay in person at the Cashier’s Office in the south lobby of the Joyal Administration Building but they must do so by 3:30 p.m. on Friday (Aug. 6). Visa and MasterCard only may be used at the cashier window, as well as check or cash.

For questions concerning payments, students may contact the Accounting Services office at (559) 278-2876 during regular university business hours -– 7 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. (summer hours) or see the full press release regarding SmartPay at FresnoStateNews.com.

Questions regarding readmission may be directed to Admissions and Records at 278-2261.
