Hanford FFA Takes Top Field Day Honors

Teams from the Hanford FFA chapter took top honors at the State FFA Cotton Judging Finals hosted by the School of Agricultural Sciences and Technology at California State University, Fresno on Saturday, Nov. 6.

Hanford FFA was the state champion team in Cotton contest A, second place went to Riverdale FFA and Corcoran FFA came in third place.

Hanford FFA also won first place in cotton contest B, with second place going to Riverdale number 1 FFA and third place to Corcoran.

The College of Agricultural Sciences and Technology along with the FFA Field Day student committee hosts 18 state FFA finals contests annually. These events are attended by approximately 3,000 students each year.

FFA is a national youth organization of 457,278 student members, 57,000 of them are located in California, where they are preparing for leadership and careers in the fields of agricultural science, business and technology. FFA strives to make a positive difference in the lives of students by developing their potential for premier leadership, personal growth and career success through agriculture education.
