The Fresno State Pow Wow is making a comeback at California State University, Fresno April 23-24.

Sponsored by the Kremen School of Education and Human Development, Tribal Tanaf, and the American Indian Education Center of Central California, the event will be held at the Satellite Student Union West Lawn area beginning at 11 a.m. and continuing through the evening.

The Fresno State Pow Wow will host a variety of.events and entertainment including Native food booths, authentic Indian jewelry and crafts, traditional drumming, and a variety of entertainment and competition traditional dancing.

Story telling, spiritual ceremonies, and displays of colorful authentic costuming also will be featured.

The event is intended to support all ethnicities consistent with the Kremen School of Education and Human Development’s theme “Leadership for Diverse Communities,” according to Dr. Kathryn Biacindo.

The Kremen School hosts a number of cultural events and the Pow Wow is a valuable addition to its agenda,” Biacindo said.
