Call 278-0333 for specific dates and times. KIDS Invent (call 294-2045)

Kids Invent!, a Craig Business School-related event, is running a total of three camps at Fresno State this summer. The traditional camp, Kids Invent Robotic Toys, will be the first camp beginning running from June 27- July 1 for kids in 5th — 8th grades. Kids Invent Digital Videos will run two camps the first July 18-22 and the second July 25-29.

The camps run from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., Monday through Friday, and the camp fee of $250 includes all materials, snacks, use of computer labs, and a T-shirt. For details, contact the Lyles Center for Innovation and Entrepreneurship at 294-2045. Register online at www.lvlescentercom.

Now in its seventh year, the one-week camps are designed to foster creative thinking, inventing and entrepreneurial enterprise among kids through hands on learning. The camps are successful as activities in the camp stimulate creative instincts of children to invent by having them design and build mock-ups of toys. As they develop their toys, participants make presentations to the teacher and work with other children in a variety of tasks. At the end of the program the kids get to keep their inventions.

In Kids Invent Digital Videos! children will learn how to shoot and edit their own digital video projects. First kids will learn basic photography and computer editing, with individual projects for each new technique covered. By the end of the week they will know how to create titles, add sound and video effects, create split screens, and do several different types of special effects. Kids will work individually and in groups to produce six videos, culminating in their own 5 to 10-minute movie and a 30-second trailer.
