Dr. Felicia Greer, an assistant professor of exercise physiology at California State University, Fresno, has been selected by the Canadian National Team to represent Canada in the European cycling event called the Tour De L’Aude, May 12-22.

Greer, a native of Canada, says the selection is a dream come true for her. She has been competing at different sports for 18 years, the last three years as a professional cyclist. She is a member of the women’s team called Webcor Builders, currently ranked No. 1 in North America.

The Tour de L’Aude is an all-women’s event that will feature more than 100 of the best female riders in the world. It is a 10-stage race — meaning there are 10 separate races —covering 493 miles in nine days. The competition will take place in a region of southeast France called Aude.

Greer also raced in multisport competitions (running and biking combined) for four years at the professional level. The Tour De L’Aude is her first competition for with the Canadian National Team.

She joined the faculty at Fresno State in the fall 2002. She previously taught at Ohio University Eastern and at Queen’s University in Kinsgton, Ontario, Canada.

Greer received a bachelor of physical education degree from the University of

New Brunswick, a master’s degree at Queen’s University and a Ph.D. from the University of Guelph in Guelph Ontario.
