The Criminology Department at California State University, Fresno will hold an open house for its new offices in the Science II Building on Saturday, April 9, at 3 p.m.

The event is open to the public. Parking is available in Lot P on Maple and Barstow Avenues. The new building is on San Ramon Ave. east of Maple Avenue and the Downing Planetarium.

Open house activities will consist of two classrooms in session with faculty giving lectures; eight students giving presentations on their research; and the introduction of members of the Criminology Advisory Board.

Federal, state, and local law enforcement, corrections, and victim service agencies from the Central Valley will send representatives.

Criminology students will present their cutting edge research on poster boards at various locations around the new offices.

Tours of the new facility will be conducted and guests will have the opportunity to meet the students and discuss their projects. Tours will begin at 3:30 p.m.

Fresno State’s Criminology Department, one of the largest programs on campus with approximately 1,000 majors, offers a Bachelor of Science degree with options in Law Enforcement, Corrections and Victimology.

“The department is a leader in the criminal justice field and its graduates have assumed leadership positions at the local, state, and federal levels,” said Dr. Steve Walker, department chair.
