Tolbert Tribute at Fresno State

Shari Tolbert, widow of the late Lt. Cmdr. Otis Vincent Tolbert (USN), and members of their family are presented with the former Bulldog’s jersey by his coach, Jim Sweeney, during the halftime of Saturday’s game when Fresno State honored his memory in a special tribute commemorating the anniversary of the Sept. 11 2001 terrorist attack on the Pentagon that killed Tolbert. The tribute was supported by the U.S. Navy’s premier Strike Fighter Nine Seven Squadron based at Lemoore Naval Air Station with four F/A 18 Hornets flying over Bulldog Stadium following the National Anthem before the game. The No. 24 nationally-ranked ‘Dog’s defeated Weber State 55-17 to open the 2005 season.
