Grad Expo scheduled Nov. 2 for potential graduate students

The Division of Graduate Studies at California State University, Fresno will sponsor Grad Expo on Nov. 2 from 2:30 to 7 p.m. in the Satellite Student Union.

Grad Expo is a major recruitment event for prospective graduate students. This is a biennial event designed to highlight the university's master's degree programs, the joint doctorate, the Certificates of Advanced Study, credential programs and the advantages of postbaccalaureate education. Currently, more than 3,000 students are enrolled in studies leading to a graduate degree at either the master's or doctoral level, or to the attainment of a credential or a certificate of advanced study.

Prospective students will be able to meet with graduate faculty and current graduate students from the university’s 43 master’s degree programs, the joint doctorate, certificates of advanced study and the credential programs. Representatives also will be available from graduate admissions, financial aid, scholarships, testing, career services and the alumni office. Students can register for the GRE, GMAT and MAT, and graduate admissions staff will offer on-site admissions counseling.

“The rewards for those who succeed in graduate studies are many, as evidenced by the rapidly growing number of individuals nationwide who earn a graduate degree,” said Dr. Vivian Vidoli, dean of graduate studies. “Currently, more than 406,000 master's degrees and 45,000 doctoral degrees are awarded annually in the United States.”

Questions about Grad Expo can be directed to the Division of Graduate Studies at 559.278.2448.
