Ag dean Bartell to receive Honorary American FFA Degree |
|
Dr. Daniel Bartell, dean of the College of Agricultural Sciences and Technology at Fresno State will be presented the National Future Farmers of America organization’s highest award to a non-member at its national convention in Louisville, Ky., Oct. 26-29. The national FFA organization works to enhance the lives of youth through agricultural education. The Honorary American FFA Degree is awarded to individuals based on their interaction with and support for FFA and agricultural education in their state. The Honorary American FFA Degree recognizes those who have gone beyond the valuable daily contributions to make an extraordinary long-term difference in the lives of students, inspiring confidence in a new generation of agriculturalists. Bartell has been an active supporter of the Future Farmers of American and the State Leadership Conference, which is held in Fresno each year and attracts approximately 5,000 student participants.
Bartell came to Fresno State
in 1992. He will step down as dean of the College of Agricultural
Sciences and Technology in the spring of 2006 but will remain on the
faculty to participate in several initiatives currently under way at
Fresno State. |
