Maddy Associates:
A Public Affairs Forum for “California’s New Frontier"

On June 27, The Maddy Institute officially launched the Maddy Associates program—a public affairs forum modeled after the Commonwealth Club of California—to bring together a diverse array of distinguished speakers to discuss topics of importance to our region, our State and our Nation.

Our first event will be an annual “Sacramento Update” with State Senate and State Assembly members from throughout the San Joaquin Valley, scheduled for Wednesday, August 10 from 5:00 to 7:30 pm at the Smittcamp Alumni House on the California State University, Fresno campus. Senators Chuck Poochigian and Dean Florez, as well as Assemblymembers Juan Arambula, David Cogdill, Nicole Parra and Mike Villines have already indicated that they will attend. Other state legislators who have been invited include Senators Roy Ashburn, Jeff Denham, Michael Machado, as well as Assemblymembers Greg Aghazarian, Barbara Matthews, Bill Maze, Kevin McCarthy, Alan Nakanishi, Sharon Runner and Simon Salinas.

Our second event will be an annual “Washington Update” with the San Joaquin Valley’s Congressional delegation, scheduled for October.
