Dr. Elizabeth Morrow, a University of Texas music professor and an alumna of California State University, Fresno who holds a Doctor of Musical Arts degree, returns home Wednesday, March 22, to perform compositions for solo cello.

Morrow’s performance at 7:30 p.m. in the Wahlberg Recital Hall in the Music Building (2380 East Keats Ave.) will feature works by Robert Fleisher, J.S. Bach, Gaspar Cassadó and Fresno State professor of composition Benjamin Boone.

Morrow played her debut as soloist with the South Bend Symphony at age 16 and performed one year later with the Indianapolis Symphony. She attended Indiana University, received an “artist’s diploma” from the Conservatory of Music in Freiburg, Germany and a Master of Arts degree in Cello Performance from California State University Fresno.

Morrow joined the faculty at The University of Texas at Arlington in 1991 and is an associate professor in the Music Department. She was awarded the degree Doctor of Musical Arts in Cello Performance from the University of Southern California under Eleonore Schoenfeld.

Admission to the concert is $8 general; $5 faculty/staff/seniors/students. Tickets may be purchased in the Music Department Box Office from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., Monday through Friday, or at the Box Office beginning one hour prior to the start of the concert.
