What: The Fresno State campus will begin a new chapter in its development this

summer when construction begins on an entirely new library building, This dramatic new structure will be the largest academic building on campus and will be a landmark that will undoubtedly draw raves for its beauty and its 21st century utility for library users.

The fourth floor of the soon-to-be-constructed new Madden Library building will be named The Harold H. Haak Administrative Center in memory of Dr. Haak, the university’s seventh president. A widely respected scholar, he was a faculty member and administrator and president of Fresno State from 1980

until his retirement in 1991. He passed away in December 2003.

A brief announcement will be made, followed by 1-on-1 opportunities. When: Tuesday, May 23, 12 Noon

Where: Henry Madden Library — exterior (northeast corner near Free Speech Area).
