Gandhi associate will speak during Stop the Hate week activities

Dewarko Ji Sundrani, an associate of Mahatmas Gandhi and a renowned Gandhian social worker from India, will be among the speakers and discussion group participants during “Stop the Hate Week – Building a Culture of Peace” activities at California State University, Fresno starting Sunday, Oct. 1.

Activities during the week include an interfaith panel discussion, music, poetry and an international culture festival.

The opening ceremony is scheduled at 2 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 1, in the Music Building Concert Hall. Featured speakers will be University President John D. Welty and Associated Students President Juan Pablo Moncayo.

Afterward, a garlanding and meditation time will be held in the campus Peace Garden.

All Stop the Hate Week events are free and open to the public. For more information contact, contact the Student Activities Office at 559.278.2741.
