The 2007 Spring Field Day and State Finals for the California Future Farmers of America will be Saturday, April 14, at California State University, Fresno.

Hosted by the College of Agricultural Sciences and Technology, the event begins at 8 a.m. at the Livestock Pavilion (2708. E. Barstow, east of Maple Avenue). An awards ceremony at 4 p.m. in the Save Mart Center will conclude the day’s events.

FFA members will compete for state champion titles at the individual and team levels. Organizers expect approximately 2,300 FFA members from across the state to participate in these career development events.

The College of Agricultural Sciences and Technology and the FFA Field Day Committee host more than 20 state FFA finals contests annually. Approximately 2,500 students total attend these events each year.

FFA is a national youth organization of 490,017 student members across the nation; 64,273 of these members call California their home. The students are preparing for leadership and careers in the fields of agriculture science, business, and technology. FFA strives to make a positive difference in the lives of students by developing their potential for premier leadership, personal growth, and career success through agricultural education.
