Advertising students from seven universities in California and Nevada will compete Saturday, April 28, at California State University, Fresno, for the opportunity to represent their district at the National Student Advertising Competition.

The daylong competition, which will begin at 8 a.m., will be held at the Leon S. and Pete P. Peters Educational Center and the Lyles Center for Innovation and Entrepreneurship, both within the Student Recreation Center at Shaw and Woodrow avenues.

Every year, more than 3,000 college students from 210 schools across the United States create a “real-world” marketing campaign for the competition that is sponsored by the American Advertising Federation. This year, the campaign has been developed for Coca-Cola Classic

The Fresno State Advertising Club will compete against the University of California, Berkeley; University of San Francisco; Academy of Arts, San Francisco; California State University, Chico; California State University, San Jose; and the University of Nevada, Reno in district competition.

Each campaign will be reviewed by a panel of industry executives and associates from Coca-Cola at the American Advertising Federation national conference in June in Louisville, Ky.
