A dedication ceremony will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday for the University HOPE home in Clovis constructed by a team from California State University, Fresno.

The homesite is 1395 4th St. in Clovis. The public is welcome to join in the ceremony that will include presentations by Mayor Bob Whalen and other Clovis officials, and Fresno State Vice President Dr. Paul Oliaro, speaking on behalf of the university.

Attending will be dozens of sponsors and volunteers who worked on the project, including university faculty, staff and students, and the new homeowners.

University HOPE: Housing OPportunities through Education is a student, faculty and staff organization on the Fresno State campus. Its purpose is to build hope in the community by constructing new homes (one house per year) for low-income, first-time homeowners and to rehabilitate existing homes of needy families, helping to improve neighborhoods.
