New Fresno State wine in national retail store June 21
WHAT: Fresno State Winery adds three wines to its relationship with Trader
Joe’s, including the new Special Selection Merlot – a project providing students academic experience creating
new, quality wines.

WHERE: Trader Joe’s — Fresno. Store

WHY: Announce new wines in extension of a two-year relationship between
the national neighborhood grocery chain and the only university in the nation with a winery bonded to bottle and sell its own student-produced wines, many of which have won numerous state, national and international awards.
Fresno State enology students and officials will present Trader Joe’s with the first bottle of the Fresno State Special Selection Merlot, created for and sold exclusively at Trader Joe’s.
The three new wines:
o Fresno State’s Special Selection Merlot, a wine created by the student-winemakers especially for Trader Joe’s.
o The 2006 San Joaquin County Pinot Gris from Duarte Vineyards
o Eclipse – a special last-of-vintage release of Fresno State’s award winning Rhone-blend.
