More than 110 employing organizations representing a cross-section of industries will participate today, Oct. 3, in a new career networking and recruitment event at California State University, Fresno.

Marketplace 2007, designed for Fresno State students, alumni, faculty and staff, will run from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on the University Student Union balcony. Rita Bocchinfuso-Cohen said it is designed to be less formal and more educational than the annual spring semester career fair.

“Marketplace 2007 provides an excellent forum for creating class projects related to networking and researching professions,” she said.

“It gives students the chance to practice the number one skill most sought by hiring employers – communication – and connects students of all majors and class levels to employers interested in hiring college-educated candidates for existing and potential full-time jobs, internships, co-ops and summer jobs.”
