Come to Fresno State for a haircut Monday and Tuesday, Oct. 22-23, and help a child.
The Locks of Love organization will be at California State University, Fresno for a two-day hair-snipping event. Cash donations also are accepted.
The first 25 donors will receive a coupon for services at Salon Arden in Fresno or Hair Studio II in Kerman.
Locks of Love is a nonprofit organization that provides hairpieces to financially disadvantaged children suffering from long-term medical hair loss.
Stylists will be available from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday and Tuesday in the Free Speech Area.
Guidelines for donations include:
Hair that is colored or permed is acceptable
Minimum length is 10 inches, tip to tip
Hair must be bundled in a pony tail or braid
Not acceptable is hair that has been bleached (including highlights), dreadlocks, wigs, falls, hair extensions or synthetic hair.
