“Digital Rights, Virtual Worlds and New Media – Your New Reality” will be the topic for media lawyer Dennis Wilson at 7 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 26, in the next California State University, Fresno College of Arts and Humanities Distinguished Alumni Lecture.

Wilson’s talk will be in the Alice Peters Auditorium of the University Business Center. It is free and open to the public.

Wilson, a 1988 Fresno State graduate with a degree in English literature and economics, founded the boutique Beverly Hills law firm Keats McFarland and Wilson. The firm represents some of the world’s largest media, entertainment and technology companies in complex litigation, counseling and transactions.

Prior to founding his current firm in 1999, Wilson was a partner in the Beverly Hills and Los Angeles offices of Baker & Hostetler. He received his law degree in 1991 from the University of Southern California Law Center.

In 1995, Wilson pioneered the online rights protection field, establishing one of the country’s first comprehensive Internet monitoring and enforcement programs. He directs online protection programs for numerous entertainment companies, fashion houses, e-businesses and celebrity clients. He has recovered thousands of domain names and removed infringing and unauthorized content from thousands of online sites.

A frequent speaker on new media issues at national bar associations, international trademark associations and universities, Wilson was selected one of America’s top lawyers by Forbes Business and a “super lawyer” by the New York Times and Los Angeles magazines.
