Dr. Scott Sailor, an assistant professor of kinesiology in California State University, Fresno’s Athletic Training Education Program, has been chosen to serve on the National Athletic Trainers’ Association (NATA) board of directors.

After several years as a District 8 officer, Sailor will direct the association’s efforts in behalf of athletic training professionals in California, Hawaii and Nevada. He will be installed during the association’s annual meeting June 17-21 in St. Louis, Mo.

“NATA has done an outstanding job demonstrating the invaluable service of athletic training to other associations and health care organizations, leading to important partnerships and alliances,” Sailor said.

Sailor, an athletic training professional for 20 years, earned a bachelor’s degree from Fresno State, a master’s from the University of Arizona and a doctorate from Fresno State. He joined Fresno State’s College of Health and Human Services faculty in 1991.

In 2007, he received the Technology in Education Award at Fresno State – one of the campus’ top faculty honors -and the William F. Noli Outstanding Service Award from the Fresno County Office of Education’s Regional Occupational Program.
