• Today, June 13, culinology student Quinn Zwiegle showed how to prepare a summer pasta with grilled vegetables, sausage and just-released Fresno State 2007 Estate Reserve Extra Virgin Olive Oil.
  • Monday, June 16, by Calliope Correia, an ornamental horticultural enterprise technician, will preview the festival’s Organic Herb Potting and Care Workshop.
  • Wednesday, June 18, Elisa Castro, a floral enterprise technician, will show professional floral bouquet designs.

Other workshops scheduled for the festival next Saturday are Wine Tasting 101 and Summer Harvest Recipes. The festival is from 10 a.m.to 2 p.m. at the Rue and Gwen Gibson Farm Market on campus at Chestnut and Barstow avenues. It is free and open to the public, but there is a nominal charge and limited available for some workshops.

At the festival, students from various University Farm units will be available to answer questions, provide information about their unit and educational experience and also offer samples to taste. From noon to 2 p.m., HR7, a jazz band with Fresno State students, will perform.

The Farm Market also was invited to participate in the “Music Thursdays at the Mall” on the second and fourth Thursdays through August sponsored by Sierra Vista Mall in Clovis.
