The Equine Program at California State University, Fresno is hosting an online horse auction now through June 28 on its Web site,
www.FresnoStateHorses.com.

Each horse will have a minimum bid with ongoing bids taken until June 28, explained Dr. Anne Rodiek, a professor in the Department of Animal Sciences and Agricultural Education and coordinator of the equine program.

This the second online auction for the university program. In order to support its goal of providing hands on, real-life experience to students, Fresno State’s equine program in the College of Agricultural Sciences and Technology sells well-bred, young Quarter Horses and Hackney Horses. The program also offers breeding services to its stallions.

All income generated from the sale of horses or breedings directly supports academic programs and equine science activities. Donations of cash, equipment and useable horses are also welcome.

“This is quite a nice group of horses, some only 2 years old and just starting into training, and some more mature with alot of riding,” Rodiek said. “All the horses are sound and have been ridden by students in our equine program.”
