H-wing of McLane Hall is closed at least until Monday following a flood late Tuesday caused by a failed seal in the water cooling system.

There is water damage to both floors, but the structural integrity of the building is not threatened. An emergency recovery team arrived from Sacramento shortly after midnight to get the building back in service as soon as possible. It will take an estimated 45 days to restore the wing to full operation.

Faculty and staff will be allowed entry into McLane Hall until 9 a.m. today, July 2, to retrieve personal items, but the building will be closed for other business at least until Monday, July 7. The only entry will be through the double doors on the north and south sides of H-wing. Faculty and staff who work in H-wing and have questions, should call 559.278.4004.

Part of the gated portion of Parking Lot I will be closed to parking to accommodate the recovery operation. The walkway between McLane Hall and the Kennel Bookstore will be closed to pedestrian traffic to park vehicles and equipment used in the recovery operation.

Staff and faculty with questions should call Plant Operations at 559.278-2373 or tune in the campus emergency radio station AM 1040.
