Fresno State is welcoming 43 new faculty to the campus this fall. That’s about 20 fewer than last year, as the campus faces expected reductions in state funding.

“The number is lower because we have had to be more conservative in light of the changing budget picture,” said Janette Redd Williams, associate vice president for academic personnel.

Two new deans also are in place this fall.

Dr. Andrew Rogerson is the new dean of the College of Science and Mathematics, joining Fresno State from Marshall University in West Virginia. He has considerable research experience and has more than 200 publications in refereed scientific journals. He also has obtained nearly $2 million dollars in external grant funding.

Dr. Robert M. Harper is interim dean of the Craig School of Business. He has been associate dean the past four years and previously served for seven years as chairman of the Department of Accountancy. He joined the Fresno State faculty in 1990.
