Books, backpacks, Fresno State t-shirts. They’re all in high demand as students head back to campus. The Kennel Bookstore will be open extended hours to accommodate student needs.

Bookstore hours are: 8 a.m.-6 p.m. through Friday, Aug. 22; 9 a.m.-4 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 23; 11:30 a.m.-5 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 24; 7:30 a.m.-8 p.m. Monday-Thursday, Aug 25-28; 7:30 a.m.-5:30 p.m. Aug. 29; and 10 a.m.-4 p.m. Aug. 30.

After the Labor Day weekend, the Kennel Bookstore’s regular hours are Monday-Thursday 7:30 a.m.-7 p.m.; Friday 7:30 a.m.-5 p.m.; Saturday 10 a.m.-3 p.m.; and closed on Sunday.

The Kennel Bookstore is a one-stop shop on campus for textbook, imprinted apparel, supply and snack needs.

It carries the largest selection of used books in the central San Joaquin Valley. To help students cope with textbook costs, Kennel Bookstore also provides e-book options for some titles (savings of 30 percent) and a new rental program.

The bookstore will rent selected titles for a cost savings to the student up to 60-65 percent off the new-book price. The selections of titles this semester are limited to the following courses: Biology 10, Nutrition 53 and Communications 8. Bookstore officials say if the program is successful as anticipated, titles will be added in future semesters.

• Best shopping times during this busy week are early morning or late afternoon.

• The Kennel Bookstores allows students to get refunds for texts by retaining receipts and following return guidelines.

• Kennel Bookstore guarantees that each book is the correct one the instructor has adopted and that all material bundled with the text will be included.

The Kennel Bookstore is the only on-campus seller of authorized College World Series championship clothing and gift items.
