The Smittcamp Family Honors College at California State University, Fresno will have Honors Information Days on Sept. 20 and Sept. 27 for high school students.

There are two sessions each day, separated by majors, so it is necessary for students to contact the Smittcamp Family Honors College office to register and assure they are in the correct session.

Honors College applicants must score must score 1,800 or above on the (P)SAT, be in the upper 10 percent of their graduating class or have a minimum GPA of 3.6 in college preparation classes.

Students accepted for admission to the Smittcamp Family Honors College receive an annual President’s Scholarship for their undergraduate degree program up to a maximum of eight semesters, which will cover in-state registration and fees, a laptop stipend and an optional credit for a two-person, community style room in university housing. Additional financial benefits include free Internet access, free campus student parking and extended library checkout privileges.

The Smittcamp Family Honors College began in 1998 with a $1 million gift from Earl and Muriel Smittcamp and family, a prominent agribusiness family and longtime supporters of Fresno State.
