The California Restaurant Association has given $7,500 worth of industrial kitchen equipment to California State University, Fresno’s Culinology ® program as part of the association’s support of schools that prepare students for careers in the food service, restaurant and culinary industry.

The donation included hand tools and other utensils. “As leaders in the restaurant and hospitality industry, we understand the importance of education and curriculum such as the Fresno State Culinology® program,” said chapter president Kelly Allred, who presented the gift.

Klaus Tenbergen, Culinology program director, said this is an exciting time to study Culinology, a blend of food science and culinary arts.

“We are confident that we are educating the leaders of tomorrow with cutting-edge courses – and now equipment – that will create enthusiastic and creative professionals who will help shape the future of food and our industry,” said Tenbergen. “We are thankful for the support and leadership of such partners as the California Restaurant Association.”
