“The Carrot, The Stick, or Something Else? Motivating Employees in Family-run Businesses” is Dr. Rudy Sanchez’s topic during a workshop presented by California State University, Fresno’s Institute of Family Business at 4 p.m. Wednesday, June 10.

The workshop is designed to help small business owners and managers better understand the nature of employee motivation. It will address what motivation is, the participants’ approach to motivation and tips to creating a motivating work environment.

Group discussion, questions and answers and an opportunity to network with other family business owners and institute members Is included.

Dr. Sanchez holds a doctorate in Industrial and Organizational Psychology from Portland State University. He is a lead instructor for the University Business Center’s Professional Business Training Program within the Craig School of Business, where he teaches leadership and organization behavior.

The workshop will be held in the University Business Center, Room 194.
