FresnoState Magazine – Fall 2009 IssueThe fall 2009 issue of FresnoState Magazine, published Wednesday, Nov. 18, spotlights students, staff, faculty, administrators and alumni who have made community service an integral part of the California State University, Fresno educational experience.

The university is ahead of schedule to meet the challenge of providing one million hours of volunteer service in a year. The magazine’s articles acquaint readers with some of the individuals and groups from campus who help food banks, the immigrant community served by Stone Soup, community literacy and reading programs, hospitals and more.

The magazine also details the launching of the public phase of $200 million Campaign for Fresno State, profiles athletes whose accomplishments in sports are matched by classroom excellence and preparations for the centennial celebration. This issue also includes features on alumni and a campus tree portrait by award-winning illustrator and professor Doug Hansen.
