The College of Arts and Humanities at California State University, Fresno continues its 2009-10 Distinguished Alumni Series at 12:30 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 28, with a presentation by Marcus Nance, an operatic and Broadway singer and film actor.

Nance, a 1988 graduate, will speak to students in the Fresno State Concert Hall about his time as a student and how his Bachelor of Arts in music provided a launching pad for his stage career and in feature films such as “The Producers.”

Nance performed in New York and Canada, where he was dubbed a “major talent” by the Toronto Star and complimented for his “rich voice and strong stage presence.” He hosts the cabaret series “Divos and Divas” at Statler’s Lounge in Toronto.

The Distinguished Alumni Series welcomes former Fresno State students back to campus to speak to students in the same field of study. Lectures are open to the public without charge. For more information, contact the college at 559.278.3056.
