Author Steven Church, who teaches in California State University, Fresno’s Master of Fine Arts in Creative Writing program, will read from his works at 7 p.m. Friday, April 30, at the Alice Peters Auditorium in the University Business Center.

Church’s most recent books are “The Day After the Day After: My Atomic Angst” (Soft Skull Press, April 2010) and “Theoretical Killings: Essays and Accidents” (UNO Press, November 2009). His “The Guinness Book of Me: A Memoir of Record” (Simon & Schuster, 2005) received critical praise and a Colorado Book Award in Creative Nonfiction.

He has written numerous essays and nonfiction stories have been published widely.

Church joined the Fresno State Department of English faculty in 2006. He is a founding editor of The Normal School, the university’s nationally distributed literary magazine.

The reading is free and open to the public. Free parking will be available in the University Business Center lot.

Church’s books will be available for purchase and he will sign them at a reception following the reading.
