Charles Boyer, dean of the Jordan College of Agricultural Sciences and Technology at California State University, Fresno, has been appointed to the National Agriculture Research, Extension, Education and Economics Advisory Board of the U.S. Department of Agriculture.

With 25 members from throughout the nation, the board provides advice to the Secretary of Agriculture and land-grant colleges and universities on top priorities and policies for food and agricultural research, education, extension and economics.

Each member represents a specific category of U.S. agricultural stakeholders, as mandated by Congress.

Boyer was named Fresno State’s ag dean in April 2006. He holds a Ph.D. in genetics and specializes in biochemical genetics.
