The Fresno State Alumni Association is sponsoring Fresno State Alumni Night in the South Valley on Thursday, Aug. 19, as part of that evening’s Visalia Rawhide vs. San Jose Giants California League baseball game at Recreation Park.

Alumni and friends of California State University, Fresno from Tulare and Kings Counties are invited to participate in this first of several events in central San Joaquin Valley communities designed to bring together former students and remind everyone of Fresno State’s Centennial celebration.

“Our university’s history is a 100-year record of connection with the Valley community we serve,” said Jacquelyn Glasener, executive director of the Fresno State Alumni Association.

“We hope people will join us on campus throughout this year for Centennial events, but we also want to bring a flavor of our celebration and commitment directly to Valley communities through events such as this one in Visalia,” she added.

Tickets are $20 in advance and $25 at the gate, if available. The price includes a ticket to the game, with seating in the Hall of Fame section above first base and a complimentary meal in the Hall of Fame Club. A no-host bar will be available.

President John D. Welty will attend with Bulldog Athletics mascot Time Out, who will throw out the first pitch.

The national anthem will be sung by Ivan Lopez a freshman from Visalia who is majoring in music with a vocal performance option.

Alumni Night activities begin at 6 p.m., and game time is 7 o’clock.

The Rawhide is a Class A affiliate of the Major League Baseball’s National League West Arizona Diamondbacks.
