Associated Students Inc. and the Division of Student Affairs at California State University, Fresno celebrate the 100-year legacy of outstanding student leaders with an exhibit at the Henry Madden Library through Sept. 17.

“A Legacy of Leadership” is exhibited in the Pete P. Peters Ellipse Balcony Gallery on the third floor of the Table Mountain Rancheria Tower during regular library hours.

The three-part legacy project honoring past and present student leaders begins with the exhibit of memorabilia and photographs of student presidents back to 1921. Quotes from past leaders share their favorite part of Fresno State.

The exhibit culminates with a reception at 5 p.m. Sept. 17 in the Leon S. Peters Ellipse Gallery on the library tower’s second floor. Fresno State President John D. Welty, Vice President for Student Affairs Paul Oliaro and ASI President Pedro Ramirez will speak.

A publication highlighting 30 former student presidents is in production as the third part of the legacy project. Minibiographies will showcase what the campus was like during each president’s tenure, their accomplishments and lessons they learned as student leaders at Fresno State and applied after leaving campus.

The publication encourages current and future students to participate in campus leadership, promoting involvement in student governance as an integral part of the Fresno State experience.

The book will make its debut at the reception.
