The 18th annual Red Wave Classic Junior Livestock Show, hosted by California State University, Fresno, will be held Saturday and Sunday, Feb. 12-13 at the Big Fresno Fairgrounds Livestock Pavilion (Butler and Chance avenues) in southeast Fresno.

The juniors — participants under the age of 21 — are primarily from throughout California, although some come from other states.

The California Junior Livestock Association-sanctioned show kicks off Saturday with steer showmanship at 9 a.m. Lamb and goat showmanship is at 10 o’clock. The steer, lamb and goat jackpot classes will follow showmanship competition.

On Sunday, heifer showmanship opens at 9 a.m. followed by heifer breed shows.  At 10 o’clock, hog showmanship begins, with the jackpot hog classes wrapping up the show, which is sponsored by Farmers’ Best Feed of Keyes.
