The Lyles College of Engineering’s Annual Projects Day on Wednesday, May 4, is an opportunity for teachers, counselors and K-12 students from the region to explore innovation and design in engineering and construction management at California State University, Fresno.

Fresno State student designers — mostly seniors and graduate students in the Lyles College of Engineering – will demonstrate their projects such as an unmanned aerial vehicle, autonomous robots and energy converters.

There also will be demonstrations of a State Route 180 reconfiguration, fingerprint analysis, motor control, a Doppler radar heart rate monitor, fraudulent surveys, Formula SAE, a bartending robot, River Island Country Club design, optimizing mixed design for permeable concrete and a green sports park.

“This fourth annual event promises to showcase the innovative research, design and development activities taking place at Fresno State,” said Dr. Ram Nunna, interim dean of the Lyles College, the oldest publicly supported engineering college in the San Joaquin Valley.

The event, from 12:30 to 3:30 p.m. at the Satellite Student Union, is free and open to the community.

The college offers nationally accredited undergraduate degree programs in Civil engineering, computer engineering, construction management, electrical engineering, geomatics engineering and mechanical engineering. Graduate degree programs are established in civil engineering and engineering with options in mechanical engineering, computer engineering and electrical engineering.
