The Henry Madden Library debuted a stunning exhibit of carousel animals from the Freels Collection this weekend. The collection will be on display during normal library hours until Aug. 31 and 10 a.m.-2 p.m. Aug. 13.

Whether you’re 6 or 60 years old, you’ll enjoy the beauty of these fantastic works of art. Best of all, the exhibit is free and Starbucks is within a stone’s throw of the gallery. Unfortunately, you can’t ride the animals, but I can Photoshop you on your favorite animal if you’d like. Just email me your photos at kajohnson@csufresno.edu and I’ll make it happen!

Here’s a quick and dirty list of what’s happening on campus this week. Click on the hyperlinked words for more details about the event.

Monday, July 18

Go Figure: Hear from artists F. Scott Hess and Yu Ji about their work and experiences. 7 p.m.

Wednesday, July 20

30 minute workout: If you’re and employee at Fresno State, then take advantage of Wellness @ Work’s circuit training class. It’s a quick work out that will make the day go by faster. Enroll in the MyFresnoState portal by going to Learning and Development > Request Training Enrollment > Circuit Training. 12:05 p.m.

Trombones and saxophones: Joshua Roseman and Tim Ries will perform at this CSU Summer Arts concert. This should be funky! 7 p.m.

Thursday, July 21

Take refuge: Country/rock/folk band the Refugees will rock the Concert Hall. I hear they’re the female version of Crosby, Stills and Nash with a dash of humor. 7 p.m.

Friday, July 22

30 minute workout, again: Missing Wednesday’s circuit training workout? No worries, you have another chance!

Saturday, July 23

Even more jazz: Join the African American Alumni and Friends Chapter for a night of Jazz at the Smittcamp. Purchase your ticket here.
