Fresno State Winemaster Ken Fugelsang, an enology professor who was ardent in the field of research and publishing, will be honored at a retirement celebration at 6 p.m. Saturday, March 24, at the Fort Washington Country Club in north Fresno. Fugelsang’s retirement took effect in August but he has been teaching part-time and is no longer engaged in research. His 40-year career at Fresno State includes teaching and directing hundreds of students in winemaking and establishing the Fresno State Winery, the first commercial winery on an American college campus.
