During the César E. Chávez Celebration at Fresno State, a moment of silence will be observed at 1:05 p.m. today, March 27, for his brother, Richard Chávez, who died in July. Richard Chávez was the keynote speaker at Fresno State’s observance a year ago with Dolores Huerta. The traditional garlanding of the Chávez statue will be at about 1:15 p.m.
