Governor, state leaders join for Maddy scholarship fundraiser

The Maddy Institute at Fresno State is hosting a $250-a-person fundraising reception to benefit the Bob Beverly Sacramento Legislative Intern Scholarship Fund 5-7 p.m. June 26 in Sacramento. Featured guests include Gov. Jerry Brown, Senate President pro tem Darrell Steinberg, Senate Minority Leader Bob Huff and Assembly Minority Leader Connie Conway. John Burton, a former Senate Democratic leader and current chair of the California Democratic Party, and Jim Brulte, former Assembly and Senate Republican leader and current partner at California Strategies, will emcee.
