The new edition of the FresnoState Magazine spotlights the Administrative Services Division at Fresno State, which is responsible for everything from maintenance of the campus and public safety to finances and the Gibson Farm Market.

The magazine focuses on some of the scores of Fresno State alumni who work at the university performing a broad array of duties. Some have worked on campus since even before they received their degrees.

Administrative Services is vital to the operation of the university and its missions of academic excellence and community service, especially in difficult economic times. Much of the division’s work doesn’t receive a great deal of attention or recognition, but that doesn’t diminish the dedication of its employees.

FresnoState Magazine also updates the Campaign for Fresno State; offers profiles of Olympic Softball Hall of Famer Laura Berg, new Bulldogs football coach Tim DeRuyter and Ray Steele Jr., who chairs the Fresno State Foundation Board of Governors; and provides alumni news. Professor and illustrator Doug Hansen shares a signature “Tree portrait” about a landmark bunya pine.

FresnoState Magazine, which has won numerous awards for excellence, is a publication of the Office of University Communications.

It is published online, available to download in PDF and also distributed by mail to a select list of Fresno State alumni, supporters and friends.
