Fresno State alumnus Ismael Diaz Herrera of Mendota, director of the San Joaquin Valley Rural Development Center within the university’s Office of Community and Economic Development, participated in the 2012 class of E. Kika De La Garza Fellows. He was selected by the U.S. Department of Agriculture for a program designed to enhance his professional growth and foster workforce diversity by increasing educational opportunities for Hispanic-Americans.
