In memory of the late Neil Armstrong, Fresno State President Welty has ordered that U.S. and California flags on campus be flown at half-staff from sunrise to sunset Friday, Aug. 31, the day the the first man to walk on the moon will be interred in a private service. President Obama issued the half-staff decree Monday and California State University Chancellor Charles Reed directed campus presidents to comply. Fresno State flies flags at the Save Mart Center (south side facing Shaw Avenue), the Rose Garden at the east end of Memorial Court (next to Thomas Building) and in front of the North Gym.
