The Fresno State CineCulture program presents “Have you Heard from Johannesburg: From Selma to Soweto,” 5:30 p.m. Friday, Feb. 1 at the Leon S. and Pete P. Peters Educational Center in the Student Recreation Center. Filmmaker Connie Field will lead the post-screening discussion. The film explores a grassroots movement in which African-Americans rally to change the U.S. government’s policy toward the apartheid regime in South Africa. This resulted in a stunning victory for African-Americans who significantly altered U.S. foreign policy. The event is co-sponsored by the African People’s History Committee.
