Fresno State’s CineCulture program will screen “Son of the Olive Merchant,” 5:30 p.m. Friday, April 12 in the Leon S. and Pete P. Peters Educational Center in the Student Recreation Center (Woodrow and Shaw avenues). The screening commemorates the Armenian Genocide. The film explores a couple’s honeymoon trip to Turkey to learn about Armenian heritage and the Armenian Genocide. It incorporates footage from their honeymoon mixed with interviews, news footage and historical documents. Filmmaker Mathieu Zeitindjioglou will lead a post-screening discussion.
